Choosing a martial arts school is about more than finding a place for your child to learn kicks and punches. You’re choosing instructors, mentors, and a community that will play a role in your child’s growth.
At Legacy Martial Arts, we believe martial arts should help students become stronger not only physically, but mentally and emotionally, too. From confidence and discipline to perseverance and leadership, the lessons learned on the mat can carry into school, friendships, and everyday life.
So, why do families throughout Meridian and the Treasure Valley choose Legacy Martial Arts?
1. More Than 25 Years of Martial Arts Experience in Idaho
Experience matters, especially when you’re trusting someone to teach your child.
Our family has been training in martial arts in Idaho for more than 25 years. Over those years, we’ve learned what it takes to create a martial arts school where students can be challenged, supported, and excited to keep growing.
Legacy Martial Arts combines years of experience with a welcoming, family-focused environment where students of all ages and skill levels can feel at home.
2. Certified, Experienced Instructors
Great martial arts instruction starts with great instructors.
Our students learn from trained and certified instructors who understand that teaching Taekwondo involves much more than demonstrating technique. A great instructor knows how to encourage a nervous beginner, challenge an experienced student, celebrate progress, and help students work through setbacks.
We take the responsibility of teaching our students seriously and strive to provide consistent, high-quality instruction in every class.
3. Leadership From Masters of Taekwondo
Legacy Martial Arts is owned and led by Master Jim Neitzell and Master Heather Neitzell, both 6th-degree black belts and Masters of Taekwondo.
That level of experience brings knowledge, consistency, and leadership to our program, but rank is only part of the story.
Our goal is to pass along the lessons martial arts has taught us while helping the next generation develop their own confidence, skills, and love for Taekwondo.
4. Life Skills and Leadership Training That Go Beyond the Mat
At Legacy, we’re not just developing martial artists; we’re helping develop future leaders.
Our Life Skills program reinforces attitude, respect, discipline, goals, integrity, perseverance, focus, confidence, dedication, and achievement.
We also offer Leadership Classes, where students take those lessons a step further. They learn what it means to lead by example, communicate effectively, help other students, and even develop the skills needed to assist with and run a class.
These opportunities give kids a chance to practice responsibility, confidence, communication, and leadership in a real-world setting: skills they can carry with them far beyond the studio.
5. We Host an Annual GTMA Tournament
Training gives students the skills. Our annual GTMA tournament gives them an opportunity to put those skills into action.
Each year, Legacy Martial Arts hosts a tournament that brings martial artists together for a day of competition, growth, sportsmanship, and community. Students have the opportunity to challenge themselves, showcase what they’ve learned, support their teammates, and experience the excitement of competition.
For families, it’s also a chance to see the confidence, dedication, and hard work their students develop throughout their training come to life.
It’s more than a competition. It’s an experience our Legacy families can look forward to year after year.
